Beyond Turkey

Upon returning from Tecate, I was able to lead a team of 5 men from our home church FBC Woodstock to Central Asia to work with Latin American missionaries that Connect Global has helped to send.

These families are planting the church where there is no church, they are ministering to refugee's that are fleeing from the horrors of IS IS. This is what is happening in this part of the world; The church of Jesus is growing. I have been traveling to this part of the world for the last 8 years (over 25 trips) and what we are seeing today is very encouraging, the church in spite of great persecution and opposition is growing!

The workers are leading and discipling national believers and they are taking responsibility for the work. One of the strategies working with the national church was taking food bags to the widows of the soldiers who have fought against IS IS and lost their lives.

One entire day we met 20 of these widows, we met their children and were able to do what no mosque has ever done, help them, cry with them, listen to their stories, and most important share the love of Christ with them.

All of this initiative was organized by the pastor of the local house church, so even when we leave he continues to minister to these families. We were also able to purchase thousands of dollars of heaters, blankets and food (thanks to the generous donation of a S.S. class in our church) we personally took jackets and shoes for the refugee's who our Latin American workers are working with and were able to help our Latin American families serving minster to a people who have lost everything, many have even lost hope.
