How God is Working Among Refugee's
Millions of Syrian refugee's have flooded into this Middle Eastern country fleeing violence, terror and death at the hands of people of their own religion.
The only ones to help them have been the U.N. and Christians from around the world. Because of that, God is doing a supernatural work in this part of the world. Such is the case in the country where I have been since last week.
I am with J.P. from the Dominican Republic. He is a psychologist from a church we are mentoring in the Global Focus process, and God has called him to plant his life in this part of the world and work with the refugee's.
I have been able to connect him with field teams of Latin American workers in this country that are not only meeting the physical and emotional needs of the refugee's, but they are leading them to Christ, and discipling them!
One of the Latin American workers said, "Every Syrian family we talk to allows us to talk with them about the Gospel as well, none have rejected us."
God is doing something incredible in this part of the world, His Spirit is moving like never before, He is using this great tragedy for His glory! To think that He allows us to participate and be a part of what He is doing is humbling at best.
This is not the time for the church of Jesus Christ to "us first" mentality, but take advantage of a Kairos movement of God.
Pray not only for J.P.'s and he seeks God's direction and leading as his future participation in this work, but also pray for future workers from his church that will potentially join him here, and for other workers to come. Jesus told us to pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send more laborers to the fields. Pray for his church to be able to rise up to the task of sending their first every cross culture worker to this part of the world. Pray for other churches all over Latin America to begin to step up to the plate and send their own members to places just like here to bring light to a very dark area of the word. Pray also for those whose lives will be forever changed because of obedience to the Great Commission.
